Significant Other - Paramount+

Significant Other is a 2022 film streaming on Paramount+ starring Jake Lacy (Pete in The Office and A Friend of the Family) and Maika Monroe (It Follows - I highly recommend that one). It occurs in an Oregon forest while a fun-loving couple goes camping. In the beginning, we see a streak falling from the sky into the forest - which we can only assume is an alien spaceship. 

As the couple, Harry and Ruth, hike through the forest, we learn that she is prone to panic attacks, and there is a traumatic story when it comes to her parents' marriage, especially when Harry asks her to marry him. After she says no, there is awkwardness between the couple in the middle of nowhere. However, I can't surpass this part because the movie has several twists and turns that would be given away if I described any more of the plot. 

I can't say it's the highest quality movie, and it's only an hour and a half, but it definitely surprised me during several scenes and kept me intrigued. I recommend watching it! It's not scary but entertaining and a good watch for an alien movie.
